Shenandoah National Park, which surrounds Skyline Drive https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/driving-skyline-drive.htm is spectacular, especially in the Fall when leaves change colors. We are about a mile from the north entrance to that. Nearby attractions are https://luraycaverns.com/ and kayakers and canoe-ists love the Shenandoah River.
Hikers know this location for being mid-point on the 2180 mile Appalachian Trail https://www.nps.gov/appa/index.htm

Hoedspruit, South Africa - right in the middle of the Greater Kruger National Park, surrounded by wildlife and the African wilderness... It's a tough job but someone has to do it!
