Dragging & dropping elements in the Editor is clunky

Browser not responding or getting stuck too often when working with the editor

General "heaviness" feeling when working with the editor
Also, if I am editing an element, e.g. a column, and I want to edit a different element, then I have to x out of the editor pop-up and then select the element I want to edit. It would be easier to just select a new element and the editor pop-up closes automatically. I have to do twice as many clicks as I really need to.
Have you used your own editor before?
