How to set Header colours and settings to apply to all pages?

I'm confused. Do I need to set the header settings for each page individually? I thought the headers would be the same across all my website pages, but I did some editing of header settings on my Home page, but the headers are all different (different colors, etc.) on e.g. my Contact and FAQs pages. What am I doing wrong here?

    maybe the overlap option on the header is enabled while it's disabled on some pages
