Does "Hide on Mobile" increase mobile site speed?

If I choose to hide unnecessary images and sections for mobile, will it make my mobile site load faster? Or is the HTML code still there and just hidden from view? Trying to speed up my mobile load times. Thanks.

    From what I have heard from Duda, it will increase speed. The images and HTML are not present. We may be able to get @Sheyla to tag some Duda Staff and get a solid answer.
